Scarf made of 100% satin silk. The Kendal green was a colour obtained in Middle Age from dyeing cloth with weld (Reseda luteola) and then overdye with and indigo-bearing plant, like woad or indigo, to turn it into green.
Although green is the most abundant colour in nature, it is almost impossible to get a good green dye. There are some exceptions but the general rule it is that green is very quickly degraded once out of the plant. Thus, green is always a secondary colour, i.e. obtained by the combination of two primaries (yellow and blue).
Dimensions: 90x90cm.
