Quilted Vest Tanacetum

This quilted vest is a very versatile piece. It was designed to wear it almost all year around, on top of a dress, a blouse, a shirt or a jumper; with trousers, skirts or it can be worn as a top on warmer days. It is as a waist-length vest.

The vest is made in 100% organic khadi cotton, a handspun and handwoven fine indian cotton fabric. It is very soft and pleasant to touch. The batting is 50% cotton, 50% soya. The piece was quilted by hand with 100% silk thread. 

The outside of the vest was printed with plant tops of Tanacetum vulgare that I cultivate in my garden. The background color comes from chestnut flowers collected at the end of summer. The inside was dyed with marigold flowers form my garden, giving a very vivid greenish yellow that combines perfectly with Tanacetum flowers. 

The silk thread for hand quilting was dyed with Oxalis pes caprae flowers + iron. 

The vest is fully reversible, so you have two in one :)
