Quilted Vest Hibiscus

This quilted vest is a very versatile piece. It was designed to wear it almost all year around, on top of a dress, a blouse, a shirt or a jumper; with trousers, skirts or it can be worn as a top on warmer days. It is as a waist-length vest.

The vest is made in 100% organic khadi cotton, a handspun and handwoven fine indian cotton fabric. It is very soft and pleasant to touch. The batting is 50% cotton, 50% soya. The piece was quilted by hand with 100% silk thread. 

The outside of the vest was printed with different flowers from my garden like purple pincushion flowers, pink cosmos, hibiscus and cosmos flowers. The background color comes from a very soft dye bath of marigolds. The vivid greenish yellow from the inside was dyed with marigold flowers. 

The silk thread for hand quilting was dyed with logwood bark. 

The vest is fully reversible, so you have two in one :)
