Quilted Vest Daisies & Coreopsis
This quilted vest is a very versatile piece. It was designed to wear it almost all year around, on top of a dress, a blouse, a shirt or a jumper; with trousers, skirts or it can be worn as a top on warmer days. It is as a waist-length vest.
The outside of the vest is made of 100% ramie, which is a plant fibre from the nettle family and it is very similar to linen. It was printed with daisies and dyed with oak acorns, all combined with iron. The inside of the vest is also 100% ramie dyed with coreopsis flowers collected in my dye garden. The batting is 50% cotton, 50% soya.
The blue thread used for hand quilting is 100% silk dyed with logwood bark.
The vest is fully reversible, so you have two in one :)
